Weekdays 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

Kate Brennan always thought she would end up in sports broadcasting. She co-anchored her high school’s morning announcements and later spent college football game days in the broadcast booth. Then she took a few detours—including sports marketing, college admissions, bartending and teaching preschool—before radio found her.

Kate got her first opportunity during a remote broadcast at a bar when someone mentioned the station was hiring. She thought, “Why not?” More than 17 years later, she is still doing what she loves: playing great music, telling stories and making listeners laugh.

Originally from Topeka, Kate has called Nebraska home for years. She is married to Monty, mom to daughters Finley and Elliott, and completely wrapped around the paw of their dog, Winnie.

Outside the studio, Kate enjoys reading, audiobooks, movies, pool time and buying more books than she could possibly need. She also has an impressive memory for song lyrics, movie quotes and random sports trivia.

Start your day with Kate, great country music and plenty of laughs on Country One 106.9.

Weekdays 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
