Have been apocalypsing with relationships? It’s an old trend with a new name, because we are doing it more. It’s when you treat every relationship like it’s your last. Yes, you go from a casual date to wondering how good a parent your boo will make in no time flat.
We’re falling into that trap thanks to COVID bubbles. We have to have someone in ours! PlentyofFish did a study and found out Gen Zers are more prone to the habit. Psychologist and marriage therapist Danielle Forshee explains that our COVID bubbles are part of the problem. We’re not getting the human touch or emotional attachment humans need, so we want to add people to our bubble.
But, when you apocalypse, you also ignore red flags. That’s where Forshee says you need to get a grip. And don’t give in to the feel good hormone oxytocin. Instead of latching on to someone new, use your support system, the more you do, the clearer and possible realism in your love match will be.
Forshee also stresses to sharpen your eye for b.s. Talking virtually creates a false sense of who someone is.
