Ever wish you could snap a mirror selfie that looks as good as the ones we see on social media? An influencer is sharing secret photo hacks she says “bloggers don’t want you to know” on TikTok. Kara Del Toro has over 1.6-million followers on Instagram and 1.3-million TikTok followers, so she knows all the tricks of the trade and how to take the best photos. And now, she’s revealing them.
In a video she posted this week, Del Toro pulls back the curtain to show how influencers get those perfect-looking mirror selfies and it’s not done the way you probably expect. Because it turns out, there’s no mirror involved at all! Her clip shows a slideshow of influencers posing in front of “mirrors” with their phones held up and she points out that it seems like bloggers have mirrors all over their homes, and somehow, none of them have a smudge on them and they’re always in the perfect light.
But that’s because they’re not using a mirror at all. Del Toro explains those perfect selfies are created using a second phone or an extra camera. She says you set your phone up on a tripod to take the photo, then hold the extra phone as a prop while you “pose anywhere you want.” Using the self-timer on your phone, you take the photo and you end up with a “very crisp looking ‘mirror selfie.’” Del Toro says it may not really be a secret, but when she found out it really changed her game.
